Promoting zero waste with creative workshops at planetariums in Mexico City

Dessignare is now collaborating all year long with the Mexican Astronomic Society by providing fulldome content for Planetario Ingeniero Joaquín Gallo in Mexico City.

In addition to this partnership, Dessignare team will be present during the editions of Galáctico Bazar, a new innitiative by SAM (Sociedad Astronómica de México) to gather people interested in acquiring tools, learning about the cosmos and promoting science.

You can visit this bazaar from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Ingeniero Joaquín Gallo Planetarium (Parque de los Venados, Miguel Laurent 133, Portales Norte, Benito Juárez mayor’s office). Every edition will feature planetarium performances, music, workshops, astronomy talks and more.

Admission is free, but some of the activities have a cost. It is important to note that the activities are suitable for all ages, so let the little ones know and put together a plan for the weekend.

Dessignare presented the talk “How to make a planetarium film?” with the special participation of Sergio Ini Vázquez, the music compositor of Cosmonaute 360 – Mission: RESCUE. After the presentation we had the premiere of this film dedicated to all the brave hearts willing to protect nature, change the world and inspire others.

To celebrate this alliance, Dessignare also setup the Cosmonaute 360 SHOP during the bazar, a booth with original products for all ages to promote zero waste and boost art and imagination!

Finally, Dessignare organized a series of creative workshops to build piñatas with recycled materials. The workshop was designed by Ana Laura Cruz, artists from Mexico City. All the materials were provided by our staff!

What materials can I use to make a piñata?

To do this, you need materials such as balloons, scissors, newspapers, liquid glue, flour, water, crepe paper and cardboard. The first step is to make the paste by mixing water, liquid glue and flour, from which a thick consistency is obtained that will help as an adhesive.
