First look to Time to Fly, Cosmonaute 360 new episode!

Dessignare is a creative studio from Mexico. We develop immersive experiences for education using virtual reality and projection mapping and we are deeply passionate about new technologies mixed with traditional arts and crafts.

Time to Fly is the third episode of Cosmonaute 360, our original series of interactive films for museums, planetariums and new media festivals.

Meet the Cosmonautes!

This is a group of explorers traveling through time and space with the mission of rescuing endangered species.

Kyubu is the leader of the Cosmonautes! His body shape resembles a marshmallow. What is it? A robot? An artificial intelligence?… No-one knows! Kyubu is driven by curiosity and always wants to understand how things work.

We designed this character to inspire children to become researchers and creators. By exploring art and science we teach them how to express their ideas and follow their dreams…whether they want to become engineers, scientists or film directors!

Bani, was the first cosmo-explorer to join the crew. We met him in episode 01 An friendly energetic bunny filled with conviction. Inspired by the Mexican legend of the rabbit in the moon. It represents respect for nature and generosity!

Bani teaches us that you don’t need reasons to be kind! Following the adventures of these explorers we learn more about the universe on how to protect nature.

In episode 02, Mission: RESCUE, the Cosmonautes land on the beautiful paradise of Isla Bonita preparing to explore the ocean. We designed the story to trick the audience into thinking they are going after a treasure…But, eventually users will find themselves surrounded by the massive amounts of plastic waste we throw away every day. Challenging their creativity the Cosmonautes will use their technology to face the consequences of our daily habits. Learning how our actions have an impact on the oceans and also making new friends along the way!

Please take a look at how our experiences develops at a planetarium!

Using projection mapping and virtual reality we craft our concepts and integrate the medium in a way technology let you become part of the story. With VR we invite the audience to become explorers and submerge in the ocean!

Our films are also developed for FULLDOME format and VIRTUAL REALITY headsets, by taking you into the dome we are putting you inside our spaceship and you are becoming a cosmo-explorer as well.

We understand immersive media as a perfect tool to activate empathy and to deliver powerful messages. We create experiences, not only by using technology but by interacting with the audience. To trigger a change in society we kick start conversations with a funny show and tell and move to action by organizing artistic workshops.

In episode 03, we will take our adventures to the sky. The cosmo-explorers will travel back in time to the beginning of the century and the industrial revolution.

Our cosmo-explorer will be getting a new look inspired in a steampunk neo-mexican fantasy style!

Bani will stealthily enter a ranch to retrieve a giant egg and before sunrise, Bani will ride a donkey and climb to the top of Mount Popoca, a glorious location with a pyramid where they will be able to collect pictures of plants and animals that have already become extinct in their own space and time. We are embracing our roots!

The new generation won’t be able to meet beautiful species of biodiversity unless we call for action now. We want to inspire young talent to become researchers and creators with a universal story dedicated to everyone who is willing to take a step to protect nature.

In this adventure the Cosmonautes will get to use a new gadget! With the power of VR and 3D print we will have a physical controller. You will be able to control a camera to manipulate the projection mapping! Creating a shared VR experience!

On every adventure the Cosmonautes recruit new friends and their team keeps growing! And so do we! We invite you to visit our instagram page to learn about how we are promoting talent in animation and immersive storytelling worldwide.

We are building a global community and we invite you to be a part of this project. Please contact us if you are interested in joining the adventure of developing our new shows!
