Last September at the University of Communication, the most recent edition of VRFESTmx was held, an event that during 3 days of festival presented us with the most outstanding projects in the field of mixed realities.
VRFESTmx is considered the most important virtual reality festival in Mexico and Latin America and for its 2018 edition it invited digital artists to present their proposals for the #VRChallenge competition.

On September 30, the winners of the contest were announced. For this edition of the VR FEST MX 2018, we sought to select projects that could generate awareness and knowledge about global, social, industrial situations experienced from the inside through immersive technologies. Generating spaces for recruitment, empathy, empowerment and implementation of what we are capable of creating, changing or improving.
The qualifying jury was made up of experts in the development of VR content and a selection of 3 finalists was made for each category.

Cosmonaute 360 is a series of short films for children, specifically designed for exhibition in educational spaces such as museums, planetariums and new media festivals. This project proposes to initiate interactive experiences between children and tutors through dynamics that promote new methods of education.
Developed by my creative group Dessignare Media, this content is distributed for free internationally thanks to the British Fulldome Institute. Available in full-dome 360 video format for immersive domes, mobile devices, and virtual reality (VR) sets.
From September 28 to October 15, you can attend Muv Lab to access the Cosmonaute 360 experience and the Queerskins project: a love story from the talented director Illya Szilak.

We thank the organization VRFESTmx and Grupo Muv for the effort to continue building discourse around technology and its multiple applications for education, awareness and development of industries.
