The Annecy International Animation Film Festival takes place at the beginning of June in the city of Annecy. This festival hosts a competition of animated films classified in different categories and also organizes the international animation market MIFA, a meeting point for companies dedicated to the creation of animated content.
Dessignare Studio traveled to France to participate in this international market and to present their new Immersive experiences for education, a new media project that seeks to promote a culture of sharing and creation of educational materials via artistic mediums. The final objective of our innitiative is to teach our research methodology and invite young audiences and professionals to share their knowledge and passions.
This 2022, Cosmonaute 360 is launching Mission: RESCUE a new episode on the series! The ten minute immersive film will be available in multiple formats including VR, Fulldome and full-screen for online streaming and cinemas. The series of interactive films is specifically creafted for exhibition in museums, planetariums and art festivals and the very first beta testing of this new episode was reserved for Annecy MIFA, the most important week of the year for the professional animation community!
Pixelatl is an organization dedicated to promote the animation culture and the work of the Mexican and Latinamerican creators around the world. Every year the members of this amazing group are responsible of managing a booth to present new projects from Mexico and organize network meetings. We had the great opportunity to showcase our work at the booth and meet professionals and animation lovers from all over the world!
During the whole festival week we also organized a series of pop-up screenings with our virtual reality headsets, including gatherings and picnics at Annecy Lake!
A great surprise is that we met with Guillermo del Toro and he was so kind to share our project on social media! He gave an special announcement at the closing ceremony, Mexico is now declared honor guest for Annecy Festival 2023!
